The customer is a renowned specialty chemicals manufacturer based in India with a strong presence in international markets. In 2009, the chemical manufacturer commissioned a marine chemicals plant in Gujarat, India. It is the first of its kind integrated plant in India to indigenously produce Sulphate of Potash from Sea Brine, liquid bromine and Industrial Salt. The procedure is environmentally benign because the basic material is natural sea brine. They produce a variety of commercial chemicals by converting naturally occurring brine deposits. By adhering to the highest quality standards and employing the most cutting-edge production technology.
The client now relies heavily on their cogeneration facility, which runs on diesel to power their plant. They have to pay a premium for this. This, together with their commitment to sustainability, has prompted them to make the switch to a cleaner and cheaper energy source for their day-to-day operations. The partner will commission and manage the 20000 kWp Ground mount open access solar project for the duration of the loan, as part of the loan agreement. The solar plant will be handed over to the customer at the end of the loan period.
