The plywood manufacturer was founded in 1990, with interest in roofing tiles, quarrying and plantations. In the late 90’s, the customer started to focus on the door manufacturing business and by 2000, became a completely door focused company. Today, they are a major player in the specialized door industry, from manufacturing and importing doors to trading door components with international companies, while still providing the best of service to the Indian subcontinent.
The plywood manufacturer is operational 300 days in a year and operates at least 12 hours a day. Furthermore, the customer is paying a premium rate on their electricity bill and has a strong incentive to reduce their overhead costs. As per the state regulations, the customer is eligible for net metering whereby any excess electricity generated from the solar plant that goes unused can be banked with the electricity grid and credited at a later stage. As part of the loan agreement signed, the partner will be commissioning and managing the 100 kW rooftop solar project for the loan period. Post the loan term, the solar plant will be handed over to the customer.
